Owner and trainer, Barbara Nicholas began training and rehabilitating dogs as a rescue volunteer in 1996. She received her Master Trainer Certification from North State K-9 Academy in 1999 and has been training professionally since 2000. Barbara has studied a variety of behavior modification and training techniques from nationally renowned sea mammal trainers such as Karen Pryor, Thad Lacinak and Chuck Tompkins in addition to top dog trainers and behaviorists such as Dr. Ian Dunbar, Pamela Reid, PhD, Sue Sternberg and the UK’s John Rogerson. Continuing education is a priority for Barbara to stay on the cutting edge of shaping canine behavior using motivational training techniques.
